The lingering effects of economic depression precluded the coining of dimes after mid-1931 until the second half of 1934. Philadelphia's production of dimes that year was fairly generous, being comparable to mintage figures from the prosperous 1920s. This issue is plentiful through the grade of MS-66, and a good percentage of these coins display Full Bands. It may seem from the Census figures that FB coins are actually the more common, but this just reflects a greater tendency to submit those that are likely to receive this designation. Most examples are well struck overall, though peripheral elements such as the 4 of the date and the tops of lettering may be a bit incomplete.
