Gem examples of the 1916-S, such as the one being offered here, can be rare, and finer specimens are infrequently seen, or very rare. Excellent luster issues from peach-gold surfaces displaying whispers of apricot and light green, and an exacting strike delivers strong detail to the design features, including the feathers of the headdress and all of the eagle's plumage. The mintmark is bold but lacks definition, as is usually the case. Both sides are devoid of significant marks, further enhancing the coin's eye appeal. Very Rare
