1860-P $3 PCGS PR62 CAC

Collectors very rarely see Proof $3’s, or any gold for that matter, pop up from before the Civil War. When they do come up they’re usually met with heavy fervor.

 The 1860 was struck to the tune of just 119 pieces but even that mintage doesn’t give the whole picture as the majority were melted before they ever left the Mint, leaving only around 15-20 survivors in any condition today.

 This beautiful PCGS PR62 just barely misses the Cameo designation and has been endorsed by CAC for superior quality for the grade.

 At this price-point it represents an exceptional value for the connoisseur who desires a great rarity at a reasonable number.
