1854 25C Arrows MS66 PCGS. CAC Approved

$22,500.00 USD

. The weight of the Seated Liberty quarter was reduced in 1853, from 6.68 grams to 6.22 grams, and the change was denoted by the addition of arrows at the date and rays around the eagle. The rays lasted only through 1853, but the arrows at the date continued on 1854 and 1855 coinage, until themselves disappearing for the 1856 issues. The Arrows type without rays was struck at three mints, but the 1854 Philadelphia issue is the only one that remains plentiful today in Mint State, and it is the ideal type coin.

The current example is conditionally rare at the MS66 level, and it is just outside the Condition Census. Suburb frosty original mint luster adorns yields very sharp motifs and pristine surfaces, with ivory backdrops shining through natural olive, amber, gold, and russet toning on each side. Eye appeal is simply outstanding. Housed in a generation 3.1 green label holder. Without question one of the finest stuck with original luster early arrows quarters we’ve ever handled. Very Rare
