1817 (1717) Gold Medal PCGS PR63 DEEP CAMEO
Minted in gold only for the directors and auditors of the Westminster Fire Office, an apparent two-year appointment as all other extant examples we have located bear a similar term. This piece was awarded to Henry Robins, Esquire, whose term as director lasted through 1816 and 1817. Deep mirrors and expertly executed devices make for an acute Cameo effect, a mechanic supremacy rivaled in appeal by the calligraphic inscription, which adds an intimate quality to this otherwise boisterous offering.
