The coin was minted in 1758 at the Bahia Mint (identified by the "B" mint mark) during the reign of King Joseph I of Portugal, who was also the king of Brazil at the time.
The obverse of the coin features a bust of the king facing right.
The reverse of the coin features the Portuguese coat of arms. The 6400 Reis was a standard gold coin used in Brazil during the colonial period. It was also used in international trade and was a common currency in the Portuguese Empire.
Brazil Gold 6400 Reis. A remarkable state of preservation for a coin of this age! Absolutely incredible.
