1718 Gold 1/4 Guinea King George I NGC MS65
KM555, S-3638, EGC-550. Only a one-year type, and one of just two dates that ever saw this denomination minted (the other, 1762). This remarkable gold minor has survived the centuries relatively unscathed. Free from haymarking, and fully satin, to date only a single example grades a point finer at NGC, while we have not handled a comparable-graded specimen since our sale of the Law Collection in 2014.
