Struck during the reign of King Henry VI of England, who also claimed the French throne from 1422 to 1453, this Salut d'Or ("golden salutation") was minted in Rouen amidst the complexities of the Hundred Years' War. The coin symbolizes the Anglo-French dual monarchy and the political tensions of the era.
