An exceptionally rare partial silver set comprised of Proofs of Record from George V's final year of coinage. Individually, each of the included denominations only appears rarely at auction in this Proof format. As a set, even partial ones, results are incredibly sparse, and to date, we have only seen two: one in 2020, which realized $24,000 (Crown included), and another in 2010 (same), similarly graded. Every included offering meets gem classification, and all display a complementary and similar silver-toned appearance, resulting in a beautiful sharply matched visual balance across the set. Unlikely to be encountered again in the near-future, and a stellar opportunity for the advanced collector. Extremely Rare

The George V 5-Piece Certified Partial Proof Set from 1936 holds significant historical importance as it was minted during the final year of King George V's reign. The year 1936 is often referred to as the "Year of the Three Kings" because of the passing of George V, the short reign of Edward VIII, and the eventual accession of George VI. This proof set is notable because it was one of the last coin sets issued under George V before his death.

This partial proof set is significant not only for its rarity but also because it represents the end of an era in British numismatics. Proof sets were not widely produced in 1936, making these coins particularly valuable to collectors. The quality of the proofs, with their sharp details and mirror-like finishes, adds to their desirability. Additionally, because it is a partial set, some denominations may be missing, making complete versions even rarer. The historical context, combined with the craftsmanship and limited mintage, makes this a highly sought-after set for collectors and historians alike.
