Likely a Pattern for the copper-nickel business strike, this seemingly uncatalogued gold issue has plenty room for the Greek scholar to research. Showing glossy surfaces with minimal haze, this intriguing gem may be a presentation piece. A single piece was sold in recent years, offered by Kunker in September 2020 (Auction 339, Lot 2231), which was previously auctioned in 2008. Considering how elusive such an issue seems to be, this example will likely engage the most advanced Greek type collectors.
