$325,500.00 USD
Since its creation, the 1907, High Relief $20, has pulled on the heartstrings of coin collectors and investors around the world.. President Theodore Roosevelt intended to send tingles down the spine of anyone who would be looking at America’s coinage for the first time. In one glance you could see all that America symbolized in a single work of monetary art.
The obverse features Lady Liberty striding forward with a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left, symbolizing enlightenment and peace. The U.S. Capitol building is faintly visible in the background, with the date "MCMVII" (1907) inscribed in Roman numerals.
The reverse depicts a majestic bald eagle in flight above the sun's rays, with the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "TWENTY DOLLARS."
The current coin grades as one of the finest High Reliefs ever certified by either grading service.
With both a Plus and a * Star * designation it is arguably in the same echelon as an MS68. Which is arguably a $1m Dollar coin. The NGC star (★) designation on a coin indicates that it has exceptional eye appeal for its assigned grade. This means the coin is visually more desirable than others of the same grade due to factors like vibrant toning, intense luster, or strong cameo contrast.
It is in the Top 100 U.S. Coin Books all editions and will be one of the finest additions to any world-class collection.
This may be the very finest we have ever seen and: or handled in 40+ years.
