The obverse: Features Liberty facing right, surrounded by 13 stars, with the date "1873" below

The reverse is Known as the "Amazonian" design, it depicts a majestic eagle with outstretched wings and a shield covering part of the right wing. The inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "FIVE DOL." are around the periphery.

One of the most outstanding features of this coin is its gilt finish, which gives it a unique and striking appearance.
