$15,120.00 USD

– SOLD
A stunningly golden-blond and copper-orange An absolute superb Gem example of the 1914 matte proof, complemented by a sharp strike throughout with luminous, pristine surfaces. A couple tiny specks near the right obverse rim are all that serve as pedigree markers. The 1914 in full Red is rare this numerically fine, with a total of only 13 pieces in PR67 or PR67+ Red at PCGS and NGC combined. Less than half of those coins are CAC endorsed, and merely three higher-grade pieces exist (6/24). This nearly Condition Census example will serve well in a high-ranking Registry Set

The obverse features a right-facing bust of President Abraham Lincoln, capturing his dignified likeness. Above the portrait, the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" arches along the rim, while to the left, the word "LIBERTY" is inscribed. The date "1914" appears to the right of Lincoln's profile, indicating the year of issue.ā€‹

The reverse displays two stylized wheat ears flanking the central inscriptions. At the top, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" denotes the nation of origin, and below, the denomination "ONE CENT" is prominently featured. The Latin phrase "E PLURIBUS UNUM," meaning "Out of many, one," is situated above the denomination, emphasizing national unity.
