The 2021 American Palladium Eagle continues the U.S. Mint's series of palladium bullion coins, first introduced in 2017. Struck in high relief, each coin contains one troy ounce of .9995 fine palladium and carries a face value of $25. The 2021 issue had a limited mintage of 8,700 coins.
Obverse: Features Adolph A. Weinman's classic "Winged Liberty" design, originally used on the Mercury Dime from 1916 to 1945. Liberty is depicted wearing a winged Phrygian cap, symbolizing freedom of thought. Inscriptions include "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and the year "2021."
Reverse: Showcases another of Weinman's designs: a majestic eagle grasping a laurel branch in its beak, adapted from the 1907 American Institute of Architects Gold Medal. Inscriptions read "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "$25," "1 OZ. Pd .9995 FINE," and "E PLURIBUS UNUM."
Graded PCGS MS70 First Day of Issue, this coin exhibits flawless surfaces with sharp strike details and exceptional luster. The "First Day of Issue" designation indicates it was received by PCGS within 24 hours of the coin's release, adding to its desirability among collectors. With a limited mintage and perfect grade, it represents a significant piece for collectors and investors interested in modern U.S. bullion coins.
