Indian Eagle $10 - Addition of In God We Trust
When the Indian Eagle $10 was struck in 1907, President Roosevelt omitted the religious motto IN GOD WE TRUST, thinking it was blasphemous to put on coins, but after 33,500 Philadelphia and 210,000 Denver pieces were struck, Congress insisted the motto be returned to the coin, and it was placed to the left of the eagle.
