Colonials - Maryland and Connecticut
The need for early colonial coins started in the mid 1600s when merchant shops began populating the Atlantic coast. A rare and highly sought coin is the Maryland silver coin, made around 1659. Connecticut, which possessed copper mines, created their own mint. The coins were dated either 1737 or 1739.
