Barber Quarters - Replaced The Seated Liberty in 1892
Following the passing of a senate bill in 1890, which allowed coins to be redesigned after the original coin had been in use for twenty-five or more years, the Treasury Department looked to replace the Seated Liberty dime, quarter, and half dollar, which were effectively unchanged since 1837.
