Around 10-12 Known to Exist!
Proof 1921 Peace Dollars are the most valuable Peace Dollars in Existence overall!
1921 it's a fascinating date for coin enthusiasts. World War I had just ended, and America was desperate for Peace. The U.S. Mint, recognizing the need for a circulating Dollar since it had not produced one since 1904, minted the Morgan Dollar one final time before transitioning to the Peace Dollar design in the same year.
Some collectors have been able to acquire the important 1921 Zerbe Morgan Dollars and the less frequently seen Chapman Morgan Dollars, but few have ever handled or even seen a 1921 Satin Proof Peace Dollar!
It is one of approximately 10-12 known to exist at all, a PF66 being the finest and the present PF65 just beneath it in grade. A PF64 recently sold for $70,000 at the recent ANA Show in Chicago.
They are regarded as the rarest and the most valuable Peace Dollars in existence, surpassing even the absolute finest examples of the rarest business strike issues.
Proofs were only struck in 1921 and 1922, with 1921 being the rarer of the two. Any collector wishing to complete a 20th-century type set would require finding one to have a truly complete set.
It's difficult to overstate the magnitude of the present offering. If you're a collector of the rarest of the rare, there's just not going to be another opportunity to buy this coin in any grade anytime soon.
