The 1907 US Gold $2.5 Liberty Head coin, also known as the Quarter Eagle, is a fascinating piece of numismatic history. The 1907 coin was minted in Philadelphia, marking the final year of the Liberty Head $2.5 series, which ran from 1840 to 1907. Was created by Christian Gobrecht

He was the third Chief Engraver of the United States Mint from 1840 until his death in 1844. He was responsible for designing the famous "Seated Liberty" designs, which were in turn the direct inspiration for the design of the Trade Dollar.

The obverse features a left-facing portrait of Liberty wearing a coronet inscribed with "LIBERTY." Thirteen stars surround the portrait, representing the original thirteen colonies, with the date below

The reverse displays a heraldic eagle with a shield on its chest, clutching an olive branch and arrows in its talons. The inscription "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and the denomination "2 1/2 D." encircle the eagle
