1888 Liberty Head $10 PCGS PR65 Deep Cameo

Despite its recorded mintage of 72 pieces (the Guide Book figure of 75 appears to be in error, the 1888 eagle is an elusive gold coin as a proof. The current combined population data at NGC and PCGS show 13 proofs in all grades at NGC, with eight proof pieces at PCGS. The present PR65 Deep Cameo coin is the single finest example certified at either service. The present example offers bold contrast between the deeply frosted devices and the well-mirrored fields as its chief hallmark.
